BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The hydraulic line of a garbage truck blew this morning on Bloomfield Avenue at Broad Street. A trail of garbage was left from the point of rupture to Conger Street. Bloomfield Avenue was closed in the Eastbound direction for about 30 minutes.
Nutley Fire Department HazMat responded to the scene for potential hazardous material clean up. Crews from the Bloomfield Fire Department also cleaned up the scene.
The Bloomfield Department of Public Works responded to clean up the garbage from the roadway. Traffic flow was restored to its normal flow after DPW finished the clean up.
