VERONA, NJ - Desiree Meyer tallied 24 points and four rebounds, but it was not enough to take down Bloomfield Tech.  The Hillbillies lost 59-47 in the home game on Thursday.

Verona kept pace in the first quarter with each team scoring seven points, but Bloomfield Tech pulled ahead in the second quarter scoring 20 points to Verona's eight -- a lead that Verona couldn't overcome.  

Kylee Gallagher had 10 points and five rebounds for the Hillbillies, while CC Courter had 10 points and two rebounds and two steals.  Cayla Okafor had 14 rebounds for Verona.

The Hillbillies are  now 2-1 on the season.  They travel to Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Saturday at 10 a.m.
