VERONA, NJ - It was a rematch of the holiday tournament championship game, but this time things didn't go in the Verona Hillbillies' favor as they lost by one point to the West Essex Knights in a home game matchup on Friday.

The back and forth action led to a 16-16 tie at half time.  West Essex outscored Verona by 11-10 in the third quarter and that one point proved to be the deciding factor in the game.

CC Courter led for Verona with 10 points.  Brianna Horton and Desiree Meyer chipped in nine points each for the HIllbillies.  Brielle Krause led for West Essex with 10 points and five rebounds, while Jess Coia tallied eight points and seven rebounds for the Knights.
