Girls Track & Field: Verona Collects 60 medals at West Essex Relays

VERONA, NJ - The Verona girls track and field team had an outstanding day at the West Essex Relays on Saturday, collecting 60 medals and placing in almost every event.  The field of 12 schools included Clifton, Wayne Hills, Wayne Valley, DePaul, Summit, Passaic, Mt.Saint Dominic,Caldwell and West Essex.

Varsity Running Relays.

4 x 400m: Olivia Fiore, Brianna Rigney, Chelsea Gruskin & Kate Ashley. 2nd place. 4:19.

Shuttle Hurdles: Cianna Winkler, Carolyn Feeley, Dasha Yakhnis & Carli Lavoie. 3rd place. 1:11.

4 x 1600m: Julia DiGerinimo, Adrianna Fierro, Karishma Parekh & Bridget O’Donnell. 4th place. 24:30.

3 x 1600m: Cianna Winkler, Dasha Yakhnis  & Kathleen Nagy. 5th place. 3:58.

4 x 800m: Brianna Rigney, Julia DiGeronimo, Bridget O’Donnel & Kate Ashley. 4th place. 10:32.

4 x 200m: Zoie Petronzo, Colette Quattrochhi, Tori Socci & Francesca Valle. 6th Place 1:58.

4 x 800m: Rebecca Seubert, Karishma Parekh, Adrianna Fierro & Kathleen Nagy.  2nd place. 11:15.

4 x 100m: Tori Socci, Sara Sexton, Alyssa Deo & Faith Fauerbach.

3rd place. 54.9.

4 x 200m: Olivia Vogel, Alyssa Deo, Sara Sexton & Faith Fauerbach.2:02.7. 3rd place.

Sprint Medley: Olivia Vogel, Rebecca Siclari, Gabi Montagna & Monica Egnezzo. 4th place. 2:11.

Nutley Police Rescue Woman Locked in Burger King Restaurant

NUTLEY, NJ - Officers from the Nutley Police Department responded to a 911 call on Sunday at 5 a.m. from a woman who was locked in the Burger King restaurant off Franklin Ave.

The woman fell asleep in the ladies room sometime prior to closing and woke up only to find all of the employees gone and the doors locked. 

Nutley police responded and entered the building to allow her to leave.
