Girls Track and Field: Verona Competes at Essex County Championships

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Verona High School's Kate Ashley and Carly Waterman had outstanding performances at The Essex County Track & Field Championships at Woodman Field in Montclair this past weekend. Ashley took second place in the 800m run with a time of 2:19 and fourth place in the 400m with a time of 59.5. It was a fabulous showing considering that Ashley was unable to practice all week due to a foot issue. Waterman earned third place in shot-put with a throw of 36’ 2 3/4” missing second place by 3 1/2”. The following Verona athletes also competed at the meet.
