Girls Track and Field: Verona Opens Season With a Win


The Verona Girls Track & Field Team opened their season last week with two strong wins against Newark Central & North Star Academy at home. On Friday the team had an outstanding performance at the very competitive Aviator Relays in Hasbrouck Heights in a field of 26 teams.

The following are results from the Aviator Relays.
Second Place: 4 x 800m: Brianna Rigney, Bridget O’Donnell, Kathleen Nagy & Kate Ashley.
Second Place: Distance Medley: Brianna Rigney, Alex DeVivo, Bridget O’Donnel & Kate Ashley.
Fourth Place: Pole-Vault: Lily Benanchietti, Francesca Esposito & Rebecca Katsios.
Fourth Place: Shuttle Hurdles: Cianna Winkler, Carolyn Feeley, Dasha Yakhnis & Carli Lavoie.
Sixth Place: 4 x 1600m: Julia DiGeronimo, Karishma Parekh, Karina Squilanti & Adrianna Fierro.

Other Varsity Teams:
4 x 100m: Zoie Petronzo, Colette Quattrocchi, Alex DeVivo & Francesca Valle.
