Hockey: Passaic Valley-Cedar Grove Defeats West Windsor-Plainsboro 5-1

LITTLE FALLS, NJ – With two goals each Alex LoPresti and Matt Nelson helped lead Passaic Valley-Cedar Grove to a 5-1 victory over West Windsor-Plainsboro South on Saturday at Floyd Hall.

Passaic Valley-Cedar Grove took the lead early on, ending the first period leading 4-0, with LoPresti’s two goals, one from Nelson and one from Ryan Humes. 

Jeremy Wong found the net for West Windsor-Plainsboro South with 4:39 left in the second period, but Nelson delivered again in the third period and the Hornets closed the deal.

Noah Vasquez saved 11 of the 12 shots on the net he faced for Passaic Valley-Cedar Grove.  P.J. Keenan made 44 saves for West Windsor-Plainsboro South.

Passaic Valley-Cedar Grove takes on Fair Lawn on Monday at 7:40 p.m. at Floyd Hall in Little Falls.

On May 4, 2018 at 2:58 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle for not having an inspection decal and an obstructed windshield. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 28 year old male operator from Paterson for driving with a suspended license and having a suspended registration. His vehicle was impounded and he was released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
