Hockey: Verona-Glen Ridge Beats Gov. Livingston 4-1

WEST ORANGE, NJ – Verona-Glen Ridge improved to 11-6-1 with a 4-1 victory over Gov. Livingston at Codey Arena on Thursday.

Owen Gleeson scored all four of his team’s goals, with two assists from Steven Wenzl and an assist each from Jake Kuhn, Anton Martino and Kevin White.  Verona struck first when Gleeson found the back of the next with 10:38 left in the first.  Danny Kramer answered for Gov. Livingston tying it up with a power play goal at the end of the first period.

Both teams were scoreless in the second, but Verona came out strong in the third as Gleeson scored with 12:09 left and then delivered a power play goal with 11:26 left in the third.  He delivered one last time on a power play with less than three minutes left in the game.

In goal, Liam Blaney saved 25 of the 26 shots on goal for Verona-Glen Ridge, while Matt Altomare had 23 saves for Gov. Livingston.

Verona-Glen Ridge takes on Montclair Saturday at 5:15 p.m. at Clary Anderson Arena in Montclair.
