Lincoln Center Local Performances Held at Montclair Public Library

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Montclair Public Library has announced its summer 2016 lineup for Lincoln Center Local: Free Screenings series, which offers streams of programs from Lincoln Center’s growing digital content collection, including world-class performances from Live From Lincoln Center and other previous live events.

Chosen by the public, the following scheduled screenings will take place outside on the Main Library Plaza. Seating is provided first come, first served. In case of rain, the screenings will be held in the Main Library Auditorium.

Wednesday, July 20 at 8pm

These guardians of Harlem’s musical traditions turn to the music of Basie, Ellington, Lionel Hampton, and Illinois Jacquet.

A Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger 

Wednesday, August 31 at 8pm

An all-star lineup of friends and family gather to honor these leaders in folk music and activism. Pete and Toshi Seeger’s legacies run deep: from transforming the way we listen to our American roots to demanding social justice and successfully advocating for grassroots environmental change. Organized by their grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson, an all-star line-up of family and friends pays tribute to these leaders in folk music and activism. Featuring performances by Judy Collins, Peter Yarrow, Martha Redbone, Tom Chapin & The Chapin Sisters, Dar Williams & Dan Zanes, and speakers including Harry Belafonte and more.


Lincoln Center Local partners with your local library to bring exclusive free screenings of Lincoln Center’s finestperformances directly to your neighborhood. Major support for Lincoln Center Local: Free Screenings is provided by the Oak Foundation. Additional support is provided by the Booth Ferris Foundation and the Altman Foundation.
