CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Michele Mega announced her intention to run for the Cedar Grove Board of Education on Thursday. If elected, Mega would serve for one year, completing the 3-year term of Vin Vollero who resigned earlier this year.
Mega lives in Cedar Grove and has been married to Thomas Mega for 23 years. They have two children, Alyssa, 19 years old and Nicholas, 16 years old. Both Mega and her husband went thorough the Cedar Grove School District K-12 and are graduates of Memorial High School (which is now CGHS). Their daughter, Alyssa, is a graduate of CGHS and son, Nicholas, is currently a junior at CGHS.
Mega has been at Livingston Tire Company for 8 years as an Office Manager. Before that she worked for Mercom Systems, Oracle and GE Information Systems. Mega graduated from Caldwell College with a degree in Business Administration.
Mega is a lifelong volunteer having coached basketball and softball, as well as serving on the CGBSL, SES FSA, MMS FSA, CGHS APT, CGHS Diamond Club, Volleyball Club, CGHS Black and Gold Club, and Cedar Grove Recreation Advisory Board Member.
Education has always been one of my passions to be involved with and to be very supportive of. It is the foundation to advancement and success of our children. I have experienced the Cedar Grove School District firsthand with my two children and have volunteered in many ways to work with the district. I want to be able to work more closely in the school districts successes as we move forward. Therefore, I have decided to seek a 1 year term on the Board of Education.
