MONTCLAIR, NJ - One Montclair man is making a difference in the lives of many special needs students at Piscataway Regional Day School.

14-year-old Georgie Caunt passed away in 1996 from complications of cerebral palsy. Since his death, Caunt's uncle Bill Zuppa has set out on a mission to help other special needs children at Georgie's former school— Piscataway Regional Day School.

In honor of his nephew, Zuppa founded 'OneManOneBikeOneChild' which is an annual bike ride and charity that has raised thousands of dollars for special needs children.

In the past, Zuppa has biked to various national parks across the US, including Mount Whitney in California and Mount Washington in New Hampshire.

This year, he biked to Mount Mansfield in Stowe, Vermont. Destined for Mount Mansfield, June 23 Zuppa made his 22nd annual ride. It took him nearly three days to complete the journey.

The trips have taken a progressive turn, with each year, the distance has become longer. During the first three years, Zuppa biked 165 miles from Montclair to Cape May, NJ.

According to an article written by StoweToday.com, Zuppa lost his job in the fourth year and decided to take his travels further.

According to published reports, last year, Zuppa gave $6,000 to a family. The amount raised this year has not yet been determined.

The Piscataway Regional Day School has announced that they will select one deserving child/family when school resumes in September.

Anyone interested in sponsoring Zuppa, please mail donations to OneManOnBikeOneChild, P.O. Box 1172, West Caldwell NJ 07006.
