WAYNE, NJ - A vehicle accident at the Wayne Towne Center, near the Willowbrook Mall area, that was allegedly triggered by a road rage incident, left a motorcyclist in critical condition on Tuesday. The rider was transported to a nearby hospital.

According to reports, witnesses said they saw an altercation between the motorcyclist and a female driver of a car, after he thought he was cut off by her at the intersections of Routes 80, 23 and 46, also known as the "Spaghetti Bowl." He then followed her into the mall's lot where witnesses said he hurled an object at her vehicle. As he abruptly took off, he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into another car, making a right turn in the lot area across from the Loews Movie Theater complex.

According to Jason Statuto, chief assistant prosecutor of the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, the crash involved two vehicles, a Harley Davidson and a Honda CRV.

"No charges have been filed yet," Statuto said. "This is still an active and ongoing investigation and we cannot comment on the specific details that led to the crash or be able the events that led up to the accident."
