MOUNTAINSIDE MEDICAL GROUP ADDS PULMONOLOGIST, JUHAYNA DAVIS, M.D.

Mountainside Medical Group announced today the addition of pulmonary physician Juhayna Davis, M.D., expanding the group to 17 physicians.

Dr. Davis's practice focuses on evaluating and treating patients with a variety of lung and respiratory symptoms including asthma, cancer, cough, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, chronic bronchitis and emphysema), interstitial lung diseases, sarcoidosis, shortness of breath and more.

Davis believes in the principles of the total care continuum for patients of Mountainside Medical Group. “Being a part of a large, multi-specialty group like Mountainside Medical Group has enormous benefits to the people for whom we care.  I am able to provide a personalized approach that allows me to diagnose and treat not only respiratory conditions but other conditions that affect the lungs.  Having access to a large medical group helps establish a diagnosis more quickly and efficiently, with a goal to avoid hospitalization and expedite treatments."

Dr. Davis received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York City.  She earned her medical degree from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel. Dr. Davis completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine where she was recognized as an outstanding intern.  She then completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.  She remained at Cornell as an attending physician for an additional 5 years. During that time, she was recognized as an outstanding instructor and awarded a lifetime honorary membership to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society.  After leaving NYC, her family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she became Division Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at Mecklenburg Medical Group, part of the Carolinas HealthCare System (now known as Atrium Heath).  There, she was voted Top Doctor by her colleagues 6 times in 8 years.
