LITTLE FALLS, NJ - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced that the new ramps between Route 46 eastbound and Clove Road will open on Sunday, April 15.

Existing ramps from Route 46 east to Clove Road and the Clove Road ramp onto Route 46 east were reconstructed and will be permanently closed. Temporary detours will be in place this weekend until the new ramps open on Sunday. The DOT says that that the new ramps will allow for construction of the Clove Road Bridge to move forward, eventually connecting Clove Road and Great Notch Road.

DOT contractor J.F. Creamer & Sanzari will be putting in detours from Friday, April 13 at 9 p.m. to Sunday, April 15 at 12 noon. The following signed detours will be in place:

The DOT began this $40.8 million federally-funded project in January 2016 for improvements along Route 3, Route 46, Valley Road, and the Notch/Rifle Camp Road exchange.  The work will include construction of a new two-way service road, three signalized intersections, and two single-lane roundabouts parallel to Route 46 westbound to remove local traffic from the state highway. The project is being accomplished with two contracts, and is expected to be completed in fall 2022.
