MONTCLAIR, NJ - A 55-year-old man was hit by a motor vehicle while walking in the crosswalk at Upper Mountain Avenue on Friday, June 2.
A 19-year-old male from Livingston was traveling East on Normal Avenue and made a left turn onto Upper Mountain Avenue, striking the pedestrian in the crosswalk.
Witnesses at the scene noted that the man was in a business suit and had been on his way to work. He was seen laying on the ground and was accompanied by passers by as they awaited police and medical assistance to arrive.
According to Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department, he said, "The pedestrian complained of abrasions to the head and elbow [and] ...was transported to Mountainside Hospital for treatment."
