BLOOMFIELD NJ - Enyer Almonte-Sanchez, 19, of Newark was arrested at 5:25 a.m. Monday and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

The victim, a 27-year-old male, was stabbed by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, later identified as Enyer Almonte-Sanchez.

While traveling on Bloomfield Avenue with his girlfriend in the vehicle, the victim was rammed by the suspect disabling his vehicle. The suspect then exited his vehicle and walked over, stabbing the victim in his left flank. The suspect then forced his ex-girlfriend into his vehicle, fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to University Hospital for his injuries.

The suspect, along with the ex-girlfriend were later located at the New Jersey State Police Bloomfield Barracks. Police had received several 911 calls on a male hitting a female inside a vehicle on the NJ State Parkway.  

Sanchez was charged with bail set at $500,000. The knife used in the attack was recovered inside Sanchez’s vehicle.
