MONTCLAIR, NJ - A building on 77 N Willow St. has been evacuated after someone called in a possible bomb threat sometime after 2pm on Friday, sources report. The building at that address belongs to the Montclair Township Animal Shelter which serves Nutley.
The MTAS was the site of a fire that displaced animals for several months.
Montclair Police and fire officials are at the scene investigating. The bomb squad was called to the scene.
Deputy Chief Robert Duncan could not give much detail since the investigation is ongoing. However, he did confirm that there was a threat to the MTAS.
He said, "Fire and police units are currently on scene. The county is actively searching the property for potential threats."
Montclair Police officials could not be reached for comment at this time.
