CALDWELL, NJ - Cedar Grove resident Charles Stutts won Second Prize in the Student Art Contest held in conjunction with the Caldwell Merchants Association’s Art on the Avenue on Saturday, June 3.  The artwork will be on display at the Caldwell Library from June 5 to June 29.  

There will be a reception at the library for the winners on June 29 at 6:30 pm. The contest was sponsored and organized by the Women’s Club of Caldwell. Students in grades Kindergarten through 12 were invited to submit a piece of artwork representing the theme “My Favorite Place.”  Over ninety entries were submitted and exhibited at a display on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell during the Art on the Avenue show.  The winning student artwork was selected by professional artists Diana Gibson, Richard William Haynes and John Wolff.

The winners of the student art show were: Grades K-2: First Place, Cara Leon from Cedar Grove; Second Place, Sydney Ku, Roseland; and Third Places, Joanna Bellino and Logan Fowler of Roseland; Grades 3-5: First Place, Abby Woods from Essex Fells; Second Place, Sergio Maestoso, Fairfield; and Third Place, Jennifer Lin, Cedar Grove; Grades 6-8: First Place, Maria DiGiorgio of North Caldwell; Second Place, Charley Albert, Caldwell, and Third Place, Amanda Rohde, North Caldwell. Grades 9-12: First Place, Elizabeth Payne from Caldwell; Second Place, Robert Charles Stutts, Cedar Grove; Third Place, Olivia Alonso, Caldwell and Bethany Brooks, West Caldwell.   All first, second and third place winners received place ribbons. All students entered in the contest receive a certificate of participation.
