BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield's Second Annual "Go Gold Walk For Pediatric Cancer Research and Awareness" will take place Sunday September 24 at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center on September 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

At the first event, hundreds of community members including elected officials, cheerleaders from Bloomfield High School, and members of the local medical community, including pediatric nurses, joined the walk. Corinna Sowers Adler of NiCori Studios kicked off the event with the singing of the National Anthem. Bloomfield police officers were stationed at intersections to ensure the safety of walkers crossing the streets and Community Policing Sgt. Naomi Zapeda rode alongside the walkers cheering them on as they honored those fighting pediatric cancer.

The 2016 walk ended at the starting point, (Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center) where Belle greeted the walkers and posed for photos with children and adults alike. A DJ spun tunes, a handful of the kids from NiCori Studios joined the party in song, and everyone celebrated a job well done.

Registration for the event is $25 for adults and can be done on the event webpage: Go Gold for Pediatric Cancer Research & Awareness Walk - Individual/Family Registration
