Seventh Annual Stop for Nikhil 5K Run/3K Walk Set for September 17


WEST ORANGE, NJ – The seventh annual Stop for Nikhil 5K Run/3K Walk will take place on Sept. 17 at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue. The event is coordinated by the Nikhil Badlani Foundation, an organization founded in 2011 following the death of Nikhil Badlani in an automobile crash caused by a distracted driver.

The course is USATF certified (Code: NJ16528JHP). Awards and prizes will be given to the top male and female, top three male and female runners in each age group, a team captain for raising the most funds and team captain with the most team members.

The event is coordinated by the Nikhil Badlani Foundation, an organization founded in 2011 following the death of Nikhil Badlani in an automobile crash caused by a distracted driver.

The mission of The Nikhil Badlani Foundation is “to expand and enhance the lives of underserved children in West Orange, New Jersey, and neighboring communities through individualized lessons for talented musicians, scholarships for graduating seniors, and traffic safety awareness and education for all.”

The schedule of events (rain or shine) is as follows:

7:00 a.m. Registration

8:30 a.m. 5K Run

9:15 a.m. Ceremony

10:00 a.m. 3K Walk

10:45 a.m. Kids Run (ages 8 and under)

Following the event, participants can receive reduced admissions to Turtle Back Zoo, Codey Arena and Mini Golf Safari by showing their bibs. (Race day only.)
