Snow Cancellations for Verona and Cedar Grove

VERONA/CEDAR GROVE, NJ – With blizzard warnings in place and a snow storm approaching, many events in Verona and Cedar Grove have already been canceled or postponed.  Here is a list which we will update as additional information becomes available.


  • Verona-Glen Ridge Hockey Game for Friday night has been postponed
  • All recreation and travel basketball games and practices are canceled for Saturday.
  • Verona Junior Woman’s Club Spelling Bee has been postponed until Jan. 30
  • Project Graduation Chipotle Fundraiser has been postponed until Jan. 30
  • 13th Annual Talent Showcase at Verona High School has been postponed until Jan. 30
  • Verona Public Library will be closed Saturday.
  • Verona Public Schools will be closed Saturday and all activities canceled.

Cedar Grove

  • Cedar Grove High School Girls Basketball Varsity and JV games on Saturday have been postponed
  • Passaic Valley-Cedar Grove Hockey Game has been postponed.
  • Cedar Grove Lacrosse Club Winter Workouts are canceled.
  • All recreation and travel basketball games and practices are canceled for Saturday
  • All indoor street hockey games and practices are canceled for Saturday.
  • Cedar Grove High School Cheerleading competition on Sunday is canceled. 
  • No soccer tonight or tomorrow for Cedar Grove Soccer Club
  • Cedar Grove public schools are closed Saturday and Sunday
  • Cedar Grove Public Library will be closed Saturday.

On May 14, 2018 at 5:57 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle without a front license plate and tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 36 year old male driver from Paterson for driving with a suspended license.
