SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Kelly Toomey struck out 13 batters to  help lead the Cedar Grove Panthers to a 10-0 softball victory over Union Catholic on Wednesday.

The Panthers took an early lead, scoring on an error and then on a single by Ava Mandala in the first inning.  Rianna Marinelli, who went 3-for-5, homered in the second and Brittney Taylor did the same in the fifth.  

The Panthers continued to dominate in the seventh, scoring three runs on a triple by Blaire Adams, and a single by Samantha Brancato.

All in all Cedar Grove collected 13 hits in the winning effort.
