UNION, NJ - Cedar Grove defeated Henry Hudson 10-1 Saturday to win the NJSIAA/Blue Ribbon Group 1 championship game at Kean University.

Freshman Kelly Toomey took the mound for the Panthers, allowing only one run.

Cedar Grove took the lead in the second when Autumn Spinella hit an RBI single to knock in Rianna Marinelli and Liz Dillard then singled to score Spinella.

Cedar Grove scored four more runs in the third, with Samantha Brancato hitting a double to drive in two runs.  Ava Fernandez then hit an RBI single and Brancato scored on a fielder's choice. 

Cedar Grove closed the deal when hits from Erin Stacevicz and Rianna Marinelli and a bunt from Kailey Weinstein loaded the bases for Spinella who hit a grand slam to bring the score to 10-1.
