CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Last week the Cedar Grove Town Council, along with representatives from surrounding towns, met with DOT Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti to review the lack of paving progress on Pompton Avenue.

The township wants to clearly designate the downtown section of Pompton Avenue as one lane in both directions to improve safety and walkability in the area.

According to a Facebook post from Cedar Grove Mayor Robbie Vargo, the Commissioner was unable to provide a precise timeframe for paving, but the meeting was productive, and the Council left with a renewed commitment from the NJDOT in getting Pompton Avenue paving started and finished as soon as possible.
