Suspicious Incident Reported by Student Walking to School in Nutley

NUTLEY, NJ - A Nutley student reported that a man driving an older model dark blue sedan offered to give the student a ride to school. After saying no, the driver asked a few more times before driving off toward Centre Street. The incident took place Tuesday February 7. 

The student reported the incident to school officials who then contacted the Nutley Police Department. 

The driver is described as Caucasian, possible 50’s, white or grey hair and balding, wearing an orange traffic vest.

Luring incidents have been reported in Montclair recently. 2nd Luring Incident Reported on Harrison Ave. Montclair in Less Than Two Weeks, Police Say.   There is no connection between the Montclair and Nutley incidents. In each case however, the student knew how to respond and immediately reported the suspicious incident to authorities.
