MOUNTAIN LAKES, NJ - On March 19, Mountain Lakes High School will host its 8th Annual Fashion Show to benefit Team Zoey and the Progeria Research Foundation. Team Zoey is named after Zoey Aster Penny, a 7-year-old girl from Verona, New Jersey.
Zoey battles a fatal condition called Progeria, which prematurely ages kids many times faster than normal affecting approximately 1 in 20 million newborns. Children living with Progeria display characteristics such as growth failure, hair loss, aged skin and, in more extreme cases, strokes and cardiovascular disease.
Tickets for the fashion show, which is organized by the students, are available at the door for $10. Baskets and refreshments are also available to benefit Team Zoey and The Progeria Research Foundation.
Team Zoey, a Chapter of the Progeria Research Foundation, was started by the Penny Family to help find treatments and a cure for Progeria.
