Third Annual Manahopkin Craft Beer & Music Festival at Manahawkin Lake August 12

STAFFORD - The Stafford Township PBA will be hosting its 3rd Annual Manahopkin Craft Beer and Music Festival on Saturday August 12 from 12-7 p.m. at the Manahawkin Lake Park. 

Bands performing on the 2 stages include: Ted Hammock & The Pickles, Funk Shway, Rock Lobsters, The Impulsives, Lovelight Band, Ryan Zimmerman, a Grateful Dead Tribute Band, and Mark Diomede.  

There are over 20 breweries scheduled to attend, including Manafirkin, Rinn Duin, Weyebacher, Garden State Brewing Company, Tuckahoe Brewing, Ironbound Hard Cider, Jetty Brewing Company, Founders Brewing Company, and Ship Bottom Brewery to name a few.

The festival will also feature an array of food trucks including The Cow & The Curd, Sunny Raes, Oss-Ome-Bowls, Dump-N-Roll, Shore Good Eats and Treats, My Three Cobs Corn Roasting, Kona Pizza, The Celtic Knot Fish & Chips ,  Ree Ree's Empanadas, Vegan Food Truck Self Love and John & Debbie O's Concessions.

This is a family friendly event that will also feature kids inflatable rides.

Tickets can be purchased in advance here for $30.00 or on the day of the event for $35.00 per person. Tickets include a sampling glass and unlimited tastings. 

All proceeds from the event will go to the Stafford PBA, a nonprofit organization to help with the Stafford PBA Toy and Coat Drive and local children in need.

The History Behind Manahopkin:

The Manahopkin Craft Beer and Music Fest is a golden opportunity for visitors from near and far to sample the finest in craft brews from around the country, food from an impressive array of food vendors and trucks and music from the best musicians around. It takes place in a lovely, lakeside setting where family and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the day under the sun or shady trees.

However, to many Stafford Township families it means much more. All proceeds from the event benefit the Stafford PBA’s Holiday Toy and Coat Drive. In these difficult economic times, many in Stafford Township struggle to make ends meet. Each year, we hear heartbreaking stories of parents forced to choose between holiday gifts and putting food on the table. One little boy simply wanted a lawnmower for his father. One mother tearfully related that all her son wanted was food for a holiday meal. Two loving parents lost their jobs just weeks before the holidays and were unable to pay their bills, let alone buy gifts for their children. The family of a little girl fighting cancer was looking for a way to ease her pain and fear, if only for a little while. Thanks to the great success of this popular event, the Stafford Township PBA is able to grant the wishes of these deserving children. The money raised helps to provide toys and gifts for children, bikes, clothing, and warm winter coats, scarves, gloves, and boots. The profound gratitude of parents desperate to brighten their childrens’ holidays is heartwarming and motivates us all to work harder to reach more children in need each year.

Male Body Found Saturday Morning Under Belmar Boardwalk

BELMAR, NJ — A male body was found this morning under the Belmar boardwalk at Ninth Avenue, according to reports.

While the Monmouth County Medical Examiner's Office was at the scene on Ocean Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. on June 16, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office referred all questions to the Belmar Police Department.
