CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Cedar Grove emerged from under a Tropical Storm Warning Tuesday afternoon as Tropical Storm Isaias pulled out of the area and skies cleared, leaving downed trees and wires in its wake.

"Please stay at home until the storm passes as there are high winds and flooding conditions expected," a Nixle release on the Cedar Grove Police Department website said. " The township is also experiencing several power lines and trees in the roadway. Take necessary safety precautions."

Several trees in town have been completely uprooted. Police are urging residents, "Please stay off the roadways due to flooding and high winds."

The area remained under a tornado watch until 4 p.m. Tuesday. Isaias was moving rapidly from south to north through the state, bringing with it wind gusts as high as close to 50 mph.
