VERONA, NJ - The Verona Town Council adopted a $23.3 million municipal budget for 2017 at its meeting on Monday. 

The vote was not unanimous as Deputy Mayor Michael Nochimson voted against the budget, notint it did not include reserve funds for upcoming expenses, including replacing the turf surface on Centennial Field.

The approved budget includes a zero percent increase to the tax rate of .7852.  The average homeowner will pay $2,847 municipal taxes for 2017 for a home assessed at $362,600.
