Verona Beats Caldwell 18-7 to Advance in Essex County Tourney

Fourth-seed Verona defeated fifth-seed Caldwell 18-7 in Verona Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the Essex County Tournament.   

Jackie Brozyna scored six goals to lead her team to victory.  Maggie Ashley had four goals and two assists and Dana Pena had three goals and an assist for Verona.  Emilie Frizzi contributed to the win with two goals and one assist.  Amanda Maguire had seven saves in goal.

Grace Conlon had a hat trick and an assist for Caldwell.  Brittany Costigan had two goals and an assist and Allie Behre and Sam Garguilo had one goal each.  Rachel McNamara had six saves in goal. 

Verona is back in action at Bernards High School in Bernardsville on Monday at 4 p.m.
