VERONA, NJ - Verona football players attended Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp in June helping to raise more than $100,000 for the fight against pediatric brain tumors.

Lauren's First and Goal is a non-profit organization, a labor of love started in 2004 by John and Marianne Loose in honor of their daughter, Lauren, a pediatric brain tumor survivor.  The camp was held at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.  The guest speaker was Rutgers University football coach Chris Ash.  Ash advised the young athletes to be leaders and not followers and to "stay focused on their goals, dream big" and not let others discourage them.

Ash also praised Lauren for her courage while facing adversity and suggested the the group recognize Lauren for her courage… the athletes gave Lauren a spontaneous standing ovation.
