Verona Juniors Kicks Off "Packs for Purpose" Program

VERONA, NJ - Did you know that many Verona families will struggle to provide school supplies for their children this fall? The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona eases this burden through its annual “Packs with Purpose” fundraiser and school supply collection.

This year, the Juniors and Walgreens-Verona hope to match last year’s success and look to the community for support. To help, residents can use this link for a list of requested “Wish List” items for donation or to make a monetary donation -

To drop off your donations, “Packs with Purpose” donation collection boxes will be available at the Verona Community Center, HardBodyz Fitness, and Platinum Fitness through August 7, 2017. The Juniors will also pick up school supplies from your house. Please email for pick-up instructions or if you have any questions.

Juniors’ members will also be on hand to collect donated school supplies outside Walgreens-Verona on Friday August 4, 2017, and Sunday, August 6, 2017, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Last fall, due to the overwhelming generosity of the community and their partnership with Abdallah Khetir, the Walgreens-Verona store manager, the Verona Juniors filled over 40 backpacks. After filling the backpacks, the Juniors worked with the Verona’s Health & Social Services Program to distribute them to the students who most needed them.

The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona is a versatile organization that has been involved in social and charitable work since its inception in 1926. The Juniors address Verona’s diverse needs by promoting education, preserving natural resources, encouraging healthy lifestyles, working on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, supporting participation in the arts and advocating for issues of concern to women, children and families.
