VERONA - It was a great night of beer tasting Friday night as the Verona Inn welcomed Verona locals, Brendan Drury and Andrew Zebrowski, who are finally satisfying their dream of commercially brewing craft beers.

Brendan and Andrew, VHS graduates, have been entering their beer “recipes” in local beer fests since leaving college. After winning “Fan Favorite” at three such events over the past couple of years, they decided to pursue their dream of establishing their own commercial craft brewery. They searched and found the abandoned name of the original Hoboken Brewing Company and purchased the rights. They’ve followed all the steps necessary to establish their business and are on track to begin brewing at their new location in where else, Hoboken, hopefully by the end of May.

A few weeks ago brew masters Andrew and Brendan traveled to California to work with Sierra Nevada’s brew masters where “Oats and Four Hops” was created and barreled. To confirm they are truly in the beer making business, they had to ship several kegs of their creation across the country back to NJ, and finally celebrated its arrival at the Verona Inn.

Verona Inn manager, Garrett Hendry-Bodnar, explained the VI’s strong support for NJ craft breweries, dedicated to providing their customers a great variety of new, exciting, locally-produced, quality beers.

According to Garrett, “The VI is happy and proud to welcome Brendan and Andrew ‘s Hoboken Brewing Company for a tasting. Everyone is enjoying a great night of comradery while tasting a fine, locally crafted beer!”

Andrew and Brendan are finalizing the details to schedule a similar tasting at Cedar Grove’s Grasshopper for later this month.
