VERONA, NJ – Verona Police arrested two men on Monday in connection with a series of overnight burglaries that occurred in Verona between April 27 and May 20 this year.  Derrick Williams, 42, of Irvington and Jermaine Williams, 42, of Newark were each charged with multiple counts of burglary, conspiracy, and aggravated assault. 

According to police, a total of five burglaries were reported during that timeframe.  The charges against both of the Williams men involved three of the five burglaries, one in which the homeowner was tied up and assaulted.

The cases were closed with numerous pieces of physical, biological and electronic evidence and with the assistance of the Maplewood Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force.  

Both of the Williams were remanded to the Essex County Jail on $100,000 bail.
