VERONA, NJ - Verona police issued a Nixle alert on Thursday morning urging residents to stay indoors as the township works to clean up after Wednesday's storm, which dumped well over a foot of heavy, wet snow on the area.

The alert stated:  We do not recommend outdoor activities, especially with children. There are too many dangerous situations in town.

A second alert warned of dangerous situations throughout town, noting trees are still falling due to the weight of the snow.  It also urged residents to stay away from all wires.
