CEDAR GROVE,NJ - The Cedar Grove Board of Education accepted the resignation of board member Vincent Vollero on Tuesday effective immediately.

Vollero announced his resignation via Facebook on Wednesday stating: "It is with regret that I announce my resignation from the Cedar Grove Board of Education, due to personal/family obligations. I'd like to thank my fellow board members for the opportunity to serve with you and wish you good luck as you continue to serve our school district."

Vollero was elected to a three year term in November 2016, which expires on Dec. 31, 2019.  According to the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), the board now had 65 days to appoint someone to fill the vacant seat.  That person will serve until the next general election in November, when Cedar Grove will vote to fill two three-year terms in addition to Vollero's unexpired term.
