Westbridge Academy Supports Community Educators With Workshop to Help Teachers

Bloomfield, NJ – Westbridge Academy, a New Jersey state approved private school serving students with emotional, learning and behavioral challenges, is hosting a free workshop for area educators entitled “Building Executive Function Skills: The Missing Link to Student Achievement”.

‘Executive Function’ is the umbrella term for skills that let students plan, focus, organize and complete tasks, and is the ‘missing link’ to increased achievement for many students with learning disabilities.  This workshop will help educators develop an understanding of the role of executive function, and learn strategies to help students develop a higher level of achievement.

The presenter, Dan Gross, is with Innovative Designs for Education, where he supports school leaders in implementing instructional and organizational models that empower all learners. An in-demand speaker, Gross has presented at conferences throughout the nation and has worked with schools to increase student achievement.

As part of its commitment to sharing best practices, Westbridge Academy offers this program free of charge as an outreach service to the community. The half-day presentation will be held on December 8, 2017 at the school’s campus, 60 West Street in Bloomfield. The workshop will begin at 9:00am, with registration and coffee at 8:30.  There is no cost, however registration is required.
