World Market Sets Grand Opening in Woodland Park

WOODLAND PARK, NJ - Cost Plus World Market has announced the grand opening events for its new location at 1730 Route 46 west in Woodland Park, at the site of the former A&P supermarket in the West Falls Plaza.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m.

Prior to the grand opening event the store is expected to open its doors to shoppers later this week for its soft opening, according to multiple employees at And That! by Christmas Tree Shops, which opened next door on Aug. 25. Multiple request to World Market corporate contacts to confirm a soft launch date have not yet been returned.

In addition to the ribbon cutting the following special events are planned:

Thursday, Sept. 14 to Sunday, Sept. 18:

  • Free tastings and live entertainment 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
  • Daily raffle drawings - prizes include two $250 World Market gift cards each day
  • Free tote bags for the first 100 customers in the door each day

Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 18:

  • Spend $40 in one transaction and get two free movie certificates, while supplies last (limited to the first 250 customers each day)

Cost Plus World Market is a chain of specialty/import stores founded in the late 1950s in San Francisco, Calif., selling home furniture, decor, curtains, rugs, gifts, apparel, coffee, wine, craft beer, as well as several international food products. The company has been a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond since 2012. There are 277 stores in 35 states. Other New Jersey locations include Paramus, Livingston and Shrewsbury.
