CEDAR GROVE, NJ:  It was a great Senior Night wrestling sendoff, as No. 2 Cedar Grove advanced to the North 1 Group 1 semifinals by defeating No. 7 Whippany Park, 44-18, at home on Monday night.

Cedar Grove delivered a decisive victory with five pins by Panthers and four decisions. Vasili Cook, Joseph McCarthy, Dan DiPrenda, Eric Kriegsman and Will Dye all pinned their opponents. Jack Shutlz won, 9-1, Shawn Rooney won, 6-0, Anthony Clarizio won, 14-2, and Dom Tafuri won, 10-5.

The Panthers will host No. 3 Roselle Park (also the "Panthers") on Wednesday at 7 p.m. -- the next step in their journey to defend last year's sectional title.
