CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Cedar Grove's Anthony Clarizio and Dan DiPrenda have both earned their way to the state wrestling championship's at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall this coming weekend.  

Clarizio took second place in the NJSIAA Region 2 championships at 126 lbs. on Saturday.  Clarizio had a bye in the first round.  He then defeated Montville's Ronald Rumsby, 6-1, and DePaul's Daniel Percelay, 6-1, to make it to the champioship bout where he fell to Bergen Catholic's Carmen Ferrante 5-2, taking second place.

DiPrenda (182 lbs.) pinned Mount Olive's Dominic Sprera in the first round, and Wayne Valley's Gabriel Ortiz, before falling to Parisppany's Michael Ilic 9-0.  He earned his third place finish by defeating Bergen Catholic's Sage Mosco, 5-2.

Joseph McCarthy took fifth place at 170 lbs.  McCarthy had a bye in the first round and took down Mount Olive's Alfonso Pinto, 4-3, before falling to Morris Hills' Joey Schiele, 7-3.  He then took on Fairlawn's Joe Covino in the fourth place wrestleback, ultimately taking fifth place.  

The state championship action will kickoff on Friday in Atlantic City.
