BOUND BROOK, NJ - While it didn't go Verona's way in the match, one Verona junior reached an impressive milestone when Verona took on Bound Brook in the NJSIAA North 1 Group 1 semifinals at Bound Brook on Wednesday night.

The fourth-seeded Hillbillies could not overcome No. 1 Bound Brook, falling 52-26.  However, it was a good night for Frank Gabriele.  Wrestling at 132 lbs., Gabriele took down Carlos Ugalde on a technical fall to earn his 100th high school career win.

According to Coach Pete Foster, Gabriel is the first VHS wrestler to ever achieve 100 wins in his junior year.

"Frank is extremely dedicated to the sport of wrestling, and works hard in the off season, lifting weights and going to wrestling clubs. He qualified for the state tournament last year, and is looking to improve upon his finish from last year," Foster said.  "This is a great accomplishment for Frank and I am happy for him and his family. He is someone our team, school, and community can be proud of."
