March 12, 2018 – March 18, 2018

On March 14, 2018 at 11:41 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Heck stopped a vehicle after observing that the operator was not wearing a seatbelt. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 23 year old female passenger from Woodland Park for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On March 14, 2018 at 3:09 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle after observing the operator texting on his cell phone while driving. It was determined that the 31 year old male from Irvington was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On March 14, 2018 at 5:10 p.m., Ptl. Dominic Buscio stopped a vehicle after a random check on his MDT reveal that the registration was expired. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 32 year old male operator from Clifton for driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On March 15, 2018 at 1:14 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle that had crossed over the double yellow lines on Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 27 year old female driver for possession of marijuana. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On March 15, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped an individual walking on Ridge Road for failing to cross the roadway within a crosswalk. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 21 year old male from Queens, NY for possession of marijuana and hindering his apprehension by providing a false name. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On March 15, 2018 at 4:36 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio stopped a vehicle with dark tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 36 year old male operator from Orange for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On March 15, 2018 at 10:02 p.m., Ptl. Christopher Lynch was addressing a parking violation at a Stevens Avenue address when it was determined that the operator had an outstanding traffic warrant. The operator, a 23 year old male from Elizabeth, was arrested for the outstanding warrant. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. He was processed and released after posting the required bail.

On March 18, 2018 at 3:31 a.m., Ptl. Anthony Grigolo stopped a vehicle he observed speeding along Grove Avenue. It was determined that the 30 year old male operator from Bloomfield was driving with a suspended license. He was arrested processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

NUTLEY, NJ - Officers from the Nutley Police Department responded to a 911 call on Sunday at 5 a.m. from a woman who was locked in the Burger King restaurant off Franklin Ave.

The woman fell asleep in the ladies room sometime prior to closing and woke up only to find all of the employees gone and the doors locked. 

Nutley police responded and entered the building to allow her to leave.
