April 16, 2018 – April 22, 2018

On April 19, 2018 at 12:44 p.m., Ptl. Jason Rivers stopped a vehicle for speeding along Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver, a 61 year old male from West Orange, had a suspended license and an outstanding traffic warrant. He was arrested processed and released with a summons after posting the required bail.

On April 20, 2018 at 11:36 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella responded to the CVS at 387 Pompton Avenue on a report of a male who was panhandling. Ptl. Cassella located the subject, a 54 year old male from West Orange. He was subsequently arrested for an outstanding criminal warrant from the Cedar Grove Municipal Court. He was later released on his own recognizance.

On April 20, 2018 at 10:02 p.m., officers responded to a Crestmont Road address for an activated burglar alarm. Responding officers discovered that unknown actor(s) had forced entry into the residence through a rear door. The detective bureau responded and is investigating the burglary.

On April 21, 2018 at 3:03 a.m., Ptl. Justin Westra stopped a vehicle travelling at an extremely slow rate of speed along Pompton Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 29 year old male operator from Montclair for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On April 21, 2018 at 11:21 a.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle with an inoperable brake lamp. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 28 year old male driver from Belleville for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On April 21, 2018 at 11:49 p.m., Ptl. Joseph Ligas stopped a vehicle with tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 23 year old female driver from Millville for operating a vehicle with a suspended license. She was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On April 21, 2018 at 2:11 p.m., Ptl. Raymond Cassella stopped a vehicle after observing smoke coming from the right front tire as it was being operated along East Bradford Avenue. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 51 year old male driver from West Orange for driving while intoxicated. The investigation revealed that the driver had been involved in a hit and run motor vehicle crash in Montclair. He was arrested, processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On April 21, 2018 at 8:12 p.m., Ptl. Dominick Buscio investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Sweetwood Road. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 26 year old male driver from Bloomfield for possession of oxycodone without a prescription. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

On May 14, 2018 at 5:57 p.m., Ptl. Michael Passafiume stopped a vehicle without a front license plate and tinted windows. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the 36 year old male driver from Paterson for driving with a suspended license. He was processed and released with a summons to appear in municipal court.
