WEST ORANGE, NJ — More than 80 local business people attended the annual North Essex Chamber of Commerce (NECC) Holiday Celebration on Dec. 5 at The Manor in West Orange, where nearly a dozen vendors sold various clothing and craft items as well as holiday treats while the proceeds from a 50/50 raffle will go to a charity of the winner’s choice.
Delaney Kurdyla, 8-year-old daughter of NECC vice president of programming Kaitlyn Kurdyla, drew the winning ticket, which went to James Cabbell. Cabbell, also one of the vendors during the event, asked Delaney to choose the charity that will receive the proceeds from the 50/50.
In celebration of being a Stage IV cancer survivor and as an active childhood cancer advocate, Delaney chose the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as the recipient of these funds.
“The chamber is so excited to host this event that brings the community and local businesses together,” said NECC President Mike Daniels. “Even better, we get to support a great cause and have an outstanding time doing it.”
