Verona UNICO Sunday "Gravy" Dinner is Jan. 27

VERONA, NJ - The annual Verona UNICO Sunday "Gravy" Dinner will be held Jan. 27 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 36 Gould Street, Verona at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under.  All proceeds will benefit Verona Unico Scholarships, cancer research and the Church of the Holy Spirit Food Pantry.

13 Sea Turtles Recover From Cold at West Orange-Based Care Center

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Although more than 700 sea turtles have been stranded this winter in the Northeast region of the United States, hundreds of which did not survive, 13 sea turtles are currently recuperating from the cold at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo’s Sea Turtle Recovery, New Jersey’s only long-term care hospital.

Montclair-based Non-profit Changing Lives, One Laptop at a Time.

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Nearly a dozen Montclair students were the recipients of laptops on Thursday. As part of a laptop refurbishing initiative called Laptop Upcycle, the students also received free WiFi for their homes for four years.

N.J. Department of Human Services: February SNAP Benefits to be Paid January 19

TRENTON, NJ – The New Jersey Department of Human Services announced today that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients will be receiving their February benefits early because of the continued federal government shutdown.
