VERONA, NJ - The Junior Woman's Club of Verona, along with the Verona Recreation Department, is sponsoring the Adopt-A-Family wish tree event to provide gifts to local families in need.

Wish trees are set up at businesses along Bloomfield Ave: Lakeside Deli, Ariane Kitchen & Bar, Blue Hippo, and Nail Art. There is also one at Verona Public Library. Each tree includes ornaments with wish requests from families who are having a hard time making ends meet and would appreciate help in making the holidays special for their children. Gift cards to stores like Shop Rite and Target also are appreciated.

"To recognize how fortunate we are and to be able to pay that Christmas spirit forward to someone who is having a hard time is so special," said Vanessa Facendola, who co-chairs the program with Lauren Jacobs. "Verona is a close knit and generous community. It’s wonderful to see so many join together to help make a neighbor’s holiday a bit brighter. It’s been lovely to receive some thank you notes from families we have helped."
