VERONA, NJ - Those eating at the Verona Inn this past Thursday night got a great meal...and helped a great cause. The non-profit group Verona CHILD (Children Having Individual Learning Differences) held a fundraiser in partnership with the restaurant in order to support special education programs and initiatives in the Verona school system.
A portion of diner’s bills went directly to the organization, which also held a 50/50 raffle on the same night. Verona residents Cheryl Kaulback and Lisa Freedman won first and second place in the raffle, respectively.
“CHILD would like to extend a huge thank you for the overwhelming show of support from families, friends and educators last night and over the last several weeks on behalf of our community’s children with learning differences,” said board member Jeananne Drost. “The incredible success of this fundraiser was thanks entirely to their commitment, and we could not be more grateful!”
Funds raised will go to scholarships, hosting support groups, and teaching tools and equipment for all special education students of all ages. For more information, visit www.veronachild.org.
