CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Essex County plans to build a 40,000-square-foot facility for the county's Department of Public Works and Sheriff’s Department on Grove Avenue in Cedar Grove, county executive Joe DiVincenzo, Jr. announced this week.

The building will be used to house vehicles, store equipment and supplies and to provide up-to-date workspace for the DPW Traffic Division and Sign Shop.

The new building will be located on an underutilized parcel located near the Department of Public Works' main facility on West Bradford Avenue.

"Its close proximity will complement current operations and help the department function more efficiently," DiVincenzo said in a statement on Thursday.
