For those of you who do not know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joe Zichelli and I have lived in Cedar Grove my entire life. From playing flag football, rec baseball and basketball, to attending Cedar Grove Clean Sweep or National Night Out, I have witnessed how great of a community Cedar Grove is from a very young age.

I attended Seton Hall Prep where I graduated with honors, receiving the second highest award bestowed to graduating seniors for service to the community. I continued my education at Seton Hall University where I graduated with a BA in Political Science, summa cum laude, and received the Departmental Honors Citation for having the highest grade point average in the graduating class. I am currently continuing my education as a law student at Seton Hall Law School.

While still in school, I started and ran my own landscaping company that serviced many Cedar Grove residents. By running a small business right here at home, I learned about and worked along side our vibrant business community. For the last five years, I had the privilege of serving on Cedar Grove’s Zoning Board of Adjustment, the last two of which I was chosen to serve as Vice Chairman. I loved nothing more than interacting with residents who came before the board seeking a variance to enhance their home in our wonderful community—the love of which was shared between board members and applicants alike.

In times of such uncertainty and unprecedented happenings, I will strive to be a resource for all residents, no matter their concern. I desire to keep Cedar Grove the close-knit, family-centric community we all know and love. I will work tirelessly as to address the concerns of residents and work hand in hand with the other town leaders and professionals to put the interests of the residents first. The love for this township is indescribable and the sense of community is ever present, in times of triumph and tragedy, we pull together and become Cedar Grove Strong. I pledge as Councilman to be available, transparent, and to always remember that I am here to represent you and the community.

I encourage you to reach out to me with any concerns or if you simply wish to introduce yourself. As I hit the campaign trail for November’s election, I am sure I will become familiar with many of you; however, please feel free to reach me on my personal cell phone at 973-715-4552 or my email zichelli@cedargrovenj.org should you have any concerns between now and then.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to serving as your Councilman.
