CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Cedar Grove Mayor Robbie Vargo gave his weekly update on the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday via video on the township's Facebook page.
Vargo reported that as of today there were 122 positive COVID-19 cases in Cedar Grove with 11 deaths reported. Out of those cases, 50 are related to nursing homes in the township and 10 of the reported deaths are also connected to nursing homes.
Vargo also updated residents on the police department which is running at full capacity. He noted that the station is being cleaned and disinfected regularly and that they have implemented a rotation of police staff so that there is always one shift that is off for two weeks to keep everyone protected.
In order to keep the township informed, the www.cedargrovenj.org website has a Situational Awareness report that is updated daily with information on the pandemic. It can be found at the top of the website. In addition, there will be a Town Council meeting via Zoom on Monday night at 7 p.m. specifically so residents can ask questions about the town's response to COVID-19.
